Interstellar

On Wednesday evening I went to watch a movie with my Dad's father. We watched Interstellar. It was a fantastic movie. There was one quote in the movie I will paraphrase that touched me. "We, as humans, rarely think outside of ourselves. We need to think of ourselves as a species and not as humans." The plot of the movie has it that they are trying to find a habitable planet as earth is deteriorating. I've thought about that a lot, before the quote came in the movie and after. I've decided I want to make more memories with the people around me. Positive ones. Things I can look back on with pride. We as humans, as children of God, have a hard time looking beyond ourselves. Some of us might be better at it than others. Wherever we are, we ought to be humble and work to be better by serving others with a humble heart. We should try to see the best in others. Look at the positives in others more than the negatives or struggles we have. If and when we can do that, the world will be a much better place. In a way, what happened in Interstellar could happen here. Our earth could become uninhabitable. In the movie it was from dust and not being able to grow food. Earth could become uninhabitable if we do not look out for the people around us. What we do today effects our tomorrow's and someone else's tomorrow. Let's all try to look at the positives of those around us and learn from them and build up those around us. The world will become a much more inhabitable and pleasant place for all of us.
